 This book is a collaborative record of a forty-year journey, written by Dr. Sabet and wife Jan who approach the concept of "well-being" from different but complementary directions.

• The Holistic Lens: Spiritual resilience, the importance of community and heritage, and the daily practices of mindfulness and connection.

A Joint Narrative

Throughout this book, we offer a dual narrative. You will find clinical observations on resilience paired with personal reflections on the spiritual work of marriage. We discuss how we have balanced the "doctor’s office" with the "family table," especially while raising our three daughters in a world that often demands we choose one culture or one methodology over another.

We propose that healing is not just the absence of illness, but the presence of harmony between the mind’s data and the soul’s needs. This is the true story of how a Persian psychiatrist and a Midwestern healer found that harmony together.
